Gold Team is spending the weekend at Scott AFB, IL, where the outlook for the weather looked about the same as it has been for the last few weekends for both demonstration teams. Gold Team fought the low clouds, however, by pushing the show back a couple hours, we were able to get the show off with minimum altitudes. The Team was particularly glad to be able to perform on Saturday in respect for those who lost their lives nine years ago.  Given the fact that the anniversary of September 11th was foremost in everyone’s minds, this airshow seemed especially patriotic. The Team joined the Army Recruiters to get the crowd involved in packing parachutes, and to talk to America’s youth.

The Team met several future Soldiers and were able to give advice and good luck to them as they awaited their Basic Training dates. It was a fitting end to Saturday’s show as the Team could thank both seasoned and new Soldiers for the sacrifices they have made for their country.
