Sergeant 1st Class Scott McGee was promoted to Master Sergeant today in a promotion ceremony at the team Headquarters. His wife, Staff Sergeant McGee pinned the rank on her husband and team commander Lieutenant Colonel Joe Martin promoted MSG McGee.
The team’s Aviation section and members of the team gathered this morning for the promotion in side the CW5 Mike Novosel Theatre. Several of his former team mates from the 82nd came over to attend the ceremony and to wish him well.
” McGee said, “I am very proud to be with this organization. Continue to do the awesome job you do every day to make this the wonderful organization I’m glad to be in.”
McGee is a 15P Aviation Operations Sergeant serving the with the Army Parachute Team’s Aviation Detachment also known as “Team Six”.
McGee enlisted into the Army in 1992 and upon completion of his initial entry training at Fort Rucker, Alabama, he then went on to Ft. Campbell, KY, Fort Bragg, NC, Camp Humphrey’s, Korea, New York City Recruiting Battalion, and two trips each to Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
SFC McGee’s military education includes Recruiting, Equal Opportunity Advisor, Airborne, Air Assault and Jump Master Schools and he has over 50 static line jumps.
Some of his awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, six Army Commendations, and four Army Achievement Medals.
