After the bout of storms in North Carolina, the temperatures are starting to rise. Dogwood trees are blooming. People are actually wearing shorts, from time to time. That can only mean one thing. Time to start training! The newly minted Golden Knight Women’s 4-Way Team has officially begun their intensive training cycle. SFC Angela Nichols, SSG Laura Dickmeyer, SSG Dannielle Woosley, SGT Jen Schaben and Videographer SSG Scott Janise came together this year to pioneer the newly reorganized team. SFC Nichols is currently attending post graduate classes but will be back full time very soon! Until that time comes, the team will train 4-way when they can but also focus on Classic Accuracy, the other event they will be competing in at 36th World Military Parachuting Championship, CISM 2011 in Brazil.
Today, tunnel training was on the agenda. SFC Nichols had a later class so the team was able to get some training in early this morning. With only a 15 minute block, the Women’s Team prepped the formations and headed into the tunnel. It was a good session of training, learning the new formations and getting back into the swing of things with the old. The competition team had a long break from training due to schools and other commitments but the train is back on track. While there are some nasty fronts moving across the country, the Women’s Team will continue to train, regardless of the weather. Stay tuned for more updates!
