The Golden Knights once again had the Honor of hosting Survivors of Fallen Troopers for a Jump of a Lifetime. Dana Moody Shriver who was introduced to the Team last summer at an Air Show in South Carolina organized the second event with SGM Steve Young. Dana, who lost her fiancée Joey Rogers , and two other survivors jumped with the Golden Knights in November to honor their fallen loved ones. This time Dana wanted the day to be even bigger and better.
Over the two day event, 35 survivors and Troopers came to the Golden Knights Training facility in Laurinburg, NC to Honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Troopers and survivors came from Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, New Jersey, South Carolina, Maryland and Pennsylvania to share a special bond and remember the ones they loved and served with.
The Golden Knights Tandem Team and Aviation Section “Team Six” worked extremely hard to make sure everyone had the Jump of a lifetime. A remarkable 21 Tandem Jumpers made their way to 13,500 ft above the drop zone on Wednesday before gusty winds moved in. Another 14 Jumpers made the daring leap on Thursday with some of the best weather the Carolinas have seen in quite some time.
Keisha LeCroy jumped in honor of her husband Chad LeCroy of the Georgia State Patrol. Keisha and SGT Marvin Prince, who worked with Chad, made the jump together.
Liane Stocks come to Laurinburg from Garner, NC to bond with other wife’s of fallen troopers. She was there to honor her husband Andrew J Stocks, a NC State Trooper. Also there to honor Stocks was COL Michael Gilchrist, commander of the NC State Highway Patrol.
The event was a great success and the Golden Knights were honored to help out in any way they could. Dana Moody Shriver called her Tandem Skydive a “life changing experience”. Tandem Jumps with the survivors were a great way to honor and celebrate the lives of true hero’s who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
