The Black Demonstration Team is very proud to have been invited back to Yankee Stadium for their annual military appreciation day on 9 June 2012. After arriving in New York City, Black Team traveled immediately to the World Famous Yankee Stadium to conduct a site survey. As the Yankees were in batting practice, the team made their way onto the field to coordinate the ground show that would follow the jump. During the rehearsal, we were pleasantly surprised to be approached by Hall of Famer Mr. Reggie Jackson, also known as Mr. October. The team also had the unique opportunity to present a framed lithograph to the Yankees Manager, Mr. Joe Giardi.
As the first canopy crested the lip of Yankees stadium Black Demonstration Team was welcomed by the roar of 50,000 Yankees fans.” It was an amazing sight”, new team member SGT Jon Lopez commented, “looking down and seeing the stadium packed with fans, hearing them roar as we flew in was incredible, I will never forget this”. The stack out formation was lead in by SFC Tom Dunning and capped by a Black Team signature side by side down-plane formation piloted by SSG Dan Cook and SSG Chris Clark. The annual military appreciation day is a longtime tradition of the Black demonstration Team dating back several years’. It was nice to hear that the Yankees will be inviting the Black Demonstration Team back in 2013.
