Golden Knights Compete in the Local CaSL Meet

The Golden Knights Female 4-Way Team, or GKF4, and the Golden Knights Black 4-Way Team competed in the AAA class this past weekend at the second 2011 Carolina Skydiving League (CaSL) competition at Triangle Skydiving Center.  The meet was hosted by the dropzone and organized by league directors Jan Lane and Andy Honigbaum.  There were only six teams in attendance but the competition was fierce between these two Golden Knight Teams.  There was also a friendly wager between the two teams, the stakes, one lunch for the winner.

The actual meet consisted of six rounds.  GKF4 and GK Black were within one or two points of each other all the way to the finish.  Going in to Round 6, GK Black was down by two.  After the dust settled, GK Black ended up winning Gold by one point with a 16.6 average.  Though the competition was a close one, fun was had by both teams.  And GKF4 owes GK Black one lunch.

The Golden Knights also gave back to the sport by coaching some of the other teams at the meet.  They helped with engineering the dives and talking about how to exit the different formations.  The next CaSL meet is scheduled for 10 September at Raeford Parachuting Center in Raeford, NC.  The Golden Knights will be there to compete once again, as well as, offer coaching to any competitors who want!  Blue Skies!
