After the bout of storms in North Carolina, the temperatures are starting to rise. Dogwood trees are blooming. People are actually wearing shorts, from time to time. That can only mean one thing. The US Army Golden Knights Competition Team made a strong showing this weekend at the 2011 Indoor Skydiving Championships hosted by the Paraclete XP wind tunnel in Raeford, NC. The Knights competed in the 4way and 8way Formation Skydiving categories.
Saturday consisted of 8 rounds of 4way followed by 8 rounds of 8way. 16 rounds of competition in one day require a high degree of physical and mental endurance. The Golden Knights’ Gold 4way Team finished the day in 3rd place, while the 8way Team sat atop the leader board after 8 rounds. (more…)
Performing to perfection for the masses without a moment of hesitation or distraction is the primary mission of the US Army Parachute Teams Golden Knights, however with a breath taking view of the Arabian coast, the largest building in the world and the Palm Jumeirah Island it is slightly difficult to focus on the task at hand. It is difficult when your stage is exiting an aircraft over one of the most scenic places in the world. (more…)
