Want to know what a Accuracy competitor goes through on a daily basis? This video is just 3 jumps of a 10 to 15 jump day.
Up early at 5am, the 8way Team was greeted by rain and clouds for the first day of competition at Skydive Chicago. The plan was a 15 minute call at 6:45 for a 7am takeoff. The Golden Knights Black 4 Way Team ( SGT Mike LaRoche, SSG Josh Coleman, SSG Matt Acord, SSG Justin Blewitt and SSG Drew Starr) are team 401 and are scheduled for load one. The clouds are expected to clear early this afternoon. (more…)
The Golden Knights 8way competition team arrived yesterday at Skydive Chicago- site of the 2010 US National Skydiving Competition. The cool midwest air and abundance of green grass was a welcome change of pace compared to the recent hot/dry climate in North Carolina. Wasting no time, the eager 8way Team headed to the dropzone early this morning to begin a day of training jumps from 12,500ft.
After two productive 8way jumps, the Team was forced to take a break due to some low level clouds settling over Skydive Chicago. We are currently using the downtime to register for the four different formation skydiving events that will be taking place this coming week- 4way, 8way, 10way, and 16way. The clouds are expected to move out this afternoon, and the Knights will press on with more 8way and 4way training jumps. The competition will begin on Saturday with the 4way event, followed by 8way. If you’re in the Chicago area, stop by and say hello as we prepare for some intense competition this coming week!
