“Winter Training” in the warmth of Florida

People often ask why do the Golden Knights call Winter Training, “Winter Training”.  Are you training in the cold?  No, not really.  Are you training in the snow? No thank you.  So why, “Winter Training”.  We actually train in areas known for sunny skies and warm weather while the rest of the country is enduring frigid temperatures, sheets of ice and more snow than most cities know what to do with. Last year the Golden Knights moved from Yuma, AZ to Homestead, Fl to conduct our annual Winter Training. (more…)

Sergeant Major of the Army Kenneth Preston visits the Golden Knights for a day of Tandem Skydiving!

SMA PrestonThe Tandem Team is all set up in our new home for the next two months, Homestead, FL.  The Team escaped San Antonio, TX just as a major storm dropped rain, snow, and ice from Texas to the entire East Coast.  When the Tandem Team arrived to the Sunshine State the weather lived up to its nickname.  The sun was shining and the temperature was in the 80’s. Golden Knights score a Touchdown at the 2011 US Army All American Bowl

Friday was the final day for the Golden Knights Tandem Camp supporting the US Army All American Bowl, and the last day was just as good as the first.  For the first time in over four years Mother Nature was on our side.  The weather was perfect for jumping out of airplanes.  Over the three day event for the Golden Knights, 48 Center of Influences from around the United States jumped out of an airplane for the fist time.
