WWE Skydives with Golden Knights

Five WWE Superstars came to jump with the Tandem Team at Laurinburg, NC Friday. The wrestlers were in town for their annual “Tribute to the Troops” performance. Admission to the event was completely free of charge to all military ID card holders and their dependents, including retirees. Singers Mary J. Blige and Nickelback performed as well. The event aired on USA last night as a two-hour special, and will air again Sunday. The wrestlers LOVED the jump and the team had a great time hanging out with them. The jumpers were Eve Torres, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and Alberto del Rio.

Windy Weather 3 – Gold Team 0

Once again the weather clinches another victory over the Gold Demonstration Team.  With this being the 3rd stadium in a row canceled by heavy winds, Gold Team ends the season on a positive note by spending a weekend in our nation’s capital.  With a safety factor and maximum wind limitations of 15mph at the top of any stadium, winds at the traditional Army / Navy game on 10 December were gusting to 22mph.  (more…)

Gold Team halted in Houston Texas

This past weekend in Houston Texas the Gold Demonstration Team unfortunately made only one single jump into the great state of Texas.  SFC Dustin Peregrin was able to make the jumping narrator pass into the Kemah Boardwalk but unfortunately due to the unpredictable weather conditions the rest of the team was weathered out.

The Team was later scheduled to perform a daring jump into Reliant Stadium during the pre-game show of the Houston Texans NFL game on Sunday.  However the Reliant Stadium managers had to make a weather call 1 hour prior to the jump and decided to close the retractable roof thus terminating our demonstration jump.  Although the team was very disappointed in not being able to jump before the fans we were able to make an appearance on the field in helping to welcome our 41st President George H. W. Bush and the Houston Texans to the field.  The Texans would later win the game 30-12 over the Browns.

Gold Team is now on its way to Fort Jackson South Carolina in preparing our next jump into a basic training graduation.
